Fuck goals, you gotta have a vision before you set your goals. Setting goals up before you even know who you are as a person is a big mistake. Most people set goals and fail because they aren’t genuinely THEIR goals. Maybe they made the goals because someone else pressured them into making them (could be subconscious), maybe they made them because this is what you’re “supposed to do”. Both of those are not REAL, and anything that is not REAL will not give you a foundation you can build a career on, let alone the rest of your life and future growth.
Take some time and figure out your vision! Goals tend to look forward, vision is more introspective and looking back. What are your core principles and values? What do you really believe in? What gets you up out of bed, what are you passionate about?
Vision : a : something seen in a dream, trance, or ecstasy; especially : a supernatural appearance that conveys a revelation, b : a thought, concept, or object formed by the imagination, c : a manifestation to the senses of something immaterial
Once you’ve figured out your vision and mustered up an ample amount of passion, proceed forward towards your vision with a tenacity that will never leave you looking back.
Tenacious: a. persistent in maintaining, adhering to, or seeking something valued or desired, b. not easily pulled apart. Do this and watch all the ‘goal setters’ stare at your progress in awe.
